Accommodation at Jokkmokk Market

Three visitors at Jokkmokk market.

Are you looking for accommodation at Jokkmokk Market? The market attracts up to 50,000 visitors to a community where there are usually 3,000 people living. With such a large number of visitors, it may be wise to book your accommodation for the market early. Here we have collected some tips for those of you looking for accommodation at Jokkmokk Market.

Hotels and camping

Please note that several of the facilities are located at such a distance from central Jokkmokk that you will be dependent on your own transport. Please ask when booking.

Associations

When the market approaches, associations usually open up for simpler accommodation. Jokkmokk Ski Club (JSK) rents out mattresses in dormitories in Östra School in central Jokkmokk. Simple and affordable accommodation. The school students run a small café in the school premises under the market and offer breakfast or light lunch on site.

Private rental

Many private individuals rent out beds, rooms, apartments and even villas during the market days. It is thanks to private rentals that Jokkmokk can accommodate as many market visitors as we do.

There is no coordinated accommodation agency, but each landlord comes into contact with visitors through advertising or posts on social media, for example. Sites such as Airbnb, Blocket and Stugknuten are used, as well as social media such as Facebook. We urge everyone looking for accommodation not to pay in advance for accommodation before knowing who the landlord is and where the accommodation is located, this is to avoid fraud.

Accommodation in another location

Another option is accommodation in other towns and in nearby municipalities, which may be suitable for visitors travelling by car. There are more hotels in Gällivare, Kåbdalis, Boden and Luleå, all within about two hours' drive from Jokkmokk.
