Market concert: Albin Lee Meldau
8 February, 2025 - 19:00 - 20:00
370SEKAlbin Lee Meldau has quickly become one of our most beloved artists and has been praised for his voice and unique expression. He has watched his audience grow, embarked on sold-out tours, and spoiled us with a series of fantastic songs. With his poetic and emotional lyrics interwoven with beautiful melodies and a breathtaking voice, Albin has the ability to tell a story—whether in Swedish or English.
Albin released his debut single “Lou Lou” in 2016—a song that reached listeners all over the world. It was followed by two EPs and tours in Europe and the USA. Two years later, he went from being a talked-about newcomer to making his big breakthrough in the TV show Så mycket bättre. There, he was praised for his interpretations, his voice, and his unique style. That same year, his debut album About You was released, bringing him both Swedish and international recognition and followed by sold-out tours and the EP The Purgatory Sessions, featuring acoustic versions of songs from his debut album.
Albin’s second album, På svenska (In Swedish), was released in 2021—a deeply personal record where he shares the story of his journey from active drug addiction to a sober life, with lyrics that are gripping, emotional, brutal, and honest.
When creating music, Albin draws inspiration from musical history: from blues, soul, reggae, the great Swedish troubadours, as well as contemporary artists. His unique combination of voice, musicality, and storytelling has gained international recognition; his music has been played on BBC Radio, he has performed on various British TV shows, and he has collaborated with some of the biggest American songwriters and producers.
In June 2023, Albin released the song When You’re Here, the first taste of his upcoming English album and his first English release since the hit Forget About Us, released in 2022. His new music also follows the immense success of his beloved song Josefin, which, nearly two years after its release, has achieved 4x platinum status, become an online phenomenon, and remained steadily on the Swedish Top 40. In March, he joined the small, exclusive group of Swedish artists who have sold out one of the country’s most iconic arenas, Avicii Arena, where he performed a major concert together with the Gränslandet Symphony Orchestra and several musical friends.
The concert will also feature Malin Verheij, a singer-songwriter from Jokkmokk, who is releasing new music this winter on an EP in collaboration with BD Pop.
