Ella Marie is a Sámi artist, actress, author, and activist from Tana in Finnmark, Northern Norway. During her seven years as the front figure of the band ISÀK, she has been praised for her energetic stage personality and passionate presentation of yoik. Now, she embarks on her first solo tour in Scandinavia, bringing with her grand songs, a sea of emotions, and strong messages, but above all, a profound pride in the rich Sámi cultural heritage.
Ella Marie is one of the brightest stars in the Sámi artistic world right now, thanks to wins in the Sámi Grand Prix and the minority festival Liet International, as well as in the Norwegian TV show Stjernekamp. She is also a versatile artist who proved to be a talented actress, taking on the lead role as Ester in the film Ellos Eatnu/Let the River Live, which premiered in 2023. This feature film portrays the Alta conflict from a young Sámi woman’s perspective.
At the same time, Ella Marie was one of the leading figures among the youth who protested, including in Oslo, against the construction of wind turbines in the reindeer grazing area of Fosen, Norway. The youth protests gained significant media attention, and Ella Marie became one of the spokespersons.
The concert also features Astrid Tuorda, a Lule Sámi singer and yoiker from Randijaur near Jokkmokk.
