Music evening – Malin Verheij with friends

7 February, 2025 - 20:30 - 22:00

350SEK

Welcome into the warmth for a concert with Malin Verheij, Frithiof Stenvall, Saga Solöga and Klara Pasma at Tjallégoahte on Friday February 6 at 8:30 p.m. The singer-songwriters invite you to a cozy evening full of self-written music, art and home-made coffee. During the evening, local artist Ann Marie Scott will show and tell more about her exhibition ‘the faces of Jokkmokk’.

Outside Jokkmokk, just below the Arctic Circle there is a small red cabin in the forest full of instruments. Here lives the songwriter Malin Verheij, who through her lyrics and melodies welcomes you into a world full of emotions. Born in the Netherlands and with half her life in Sweden, she weaves together her life experiences in a calm and romantic tone. This winter, she is current with her EP To cry for, to lean on, to love. Intimate, honest and genuine: Malin Verheij creates music from the heart, to the heart. With organic instruments and personal stories, Malin Verheij opens the door to her living room.

Frithiof Stenvall can be found in his ´bagarstudio´in Måttsund outside Luleå. Here he creates his music which is stripped down, organic and wistful. It’s classic Swedish ´visor´with influences from folk and modern indie, where the rugged acoustic simplicity gets mixed with something more atmospheric and unexpected.

We find Klara Pasma in Tornedalen, with roots in Pajala, she sings songs in both Swedish and Meänkieli. In 2022, Klara Pasma was the freshman of the week in p4 Norrbotten with the song ‘Stockholm’, which highlights the beauty of living in the north and in a smaller place. Thanks to her lyrics in meänkieli, she has also reached a larger audience, and performed, among other things, during the televised national day celebration at Skansen 2022 – with the royal family in the audience.

Saga Solöga takes leaps in sounds from old traditions in East and West, and weaves them into minor verses with heart. She sings of the forest, mystery and gratitude ~ as a reminder to herself and the listener of the amazing gift of life.

Ann Marie Scott is a Swedish-American artist who has spent much of her life traveling the world. Throughout this time, she has gained an appreciation and insight to the beautiful variations of art and culture that exist. Ann Marie hopes to introduce you to some of the wonderful people that reside here in Jokkmokk.
