From Siberia to Sápmi – A Struggle for Indigenous Rights
7 February - 13:00 - 14:00
Yana Tannagasheva belongs to the Shor people, an indigenous group from southern Siberia in Russia. She and her family were forced to leave the country after being persecuted for protesting against the environmental destruction caused by coal mining in their home region, Kemerovo.
Now living in Sweden, she continues to advocate for indigenous rights. In a conversation with Malin Nord, she shares her perspective on the future of her people, herself, and all of us. She will also read newly written texts.
