The Jokkmokk market is always well attended, but this year the market set a new record with 53,500 visitors over the three days of the market.

Birgitta, who has worked with the market for over 30 years, says “It’s fantastic that such a traditional market is constantly perceived as interesting and attracts more and more visitors from almost all over the world”.

The market is not only an attraction in its own right, but also part of a larger trend where more and more people visit the municipality for both adventurous experiences and tranquillity or culture. It shows the unique appeal of Jokkmokk. It’s exciting to see how the municipality is developing and continuing to offer something for everyone.

We’re now setting our sights on the 2026 market and preparations are already underway. Book in for February 5-7 and maybe we’ll see you in the crowd!

Good news! Last year we tried a new thing in collaboration with the two pensioners associations that are here in Jokkmokk, PRO and SPF. Our lovely, happy pensioners acted as market hosts.

They walked around the area equipped with programs and maps, and answered lots of questions about both big and small. This was incredibly appreciated by both visitors and fans, and our fantastic hosts thought it was really fun.

Since it was so appreciated by everyone, we are of course running with market hosts again this year! They will circulate the market area, wearing the yellow vests you see in the picture. They are more than happy to answer all your questions and help you find your way through the chaos.

Jokkmokk’s 419th market has ended, and we look back on a market that started with gale-force winds, continued with fantastic weather – and ended with many great memories.
